The final recording sessions took place at Porchlight Studios in Dublin with Matthijs van der Spek at the helm. The album featured numerous guest appearances including performances by Cathy Davey, Cora Venus Lunny, Eimear O'Grady and Christian Volkmann. The awards ceremony took place at the RDS on St. Patrick’s Day 17th March but we were busy playing at the St. Patrick's Festival in Waterford so were unable to attend. We were, however, represented by HoCC trombonist Rossa O'Neill and Seadog Records head Colin Farrell (yes that's his real name!) I'm told much fun was had by all involved and congratulations go to the eventual winner of the award, Wallis Bird. The initial idea was to record a traditional Double-A side but it soon turned into a weekend of improvised recordings, experimental instrumentation and brooding soundscapes. The result is a full length self-titled album that became available in a limited run of 100 hand made cds and 500 12" heavyweight vinyl. Hundred years ago Edvard Grieg was asked to write a piece for the same painting and he composed 7 Psalms. Richard Bolhuis and Saskia Meys wrote the track 'Mountain'.
